2 steps forward... 1 step back

That's 2 countertops installed, another countertop ruined. :) (Hey - it's better than one step forward/two steps back, right?)

The countertops in the 2nd bathroom are FINALLY here! And sinks and faucets are installed and fully operational. YAY!

I'm not in love with that side backsplash, but at least it will protect the wall from when BBC runs his Hot Wheels through the car wash or whatever. And the plan has always been to replace those countertops in 10 years or so.

Next up: installing the mirrors and towel bars.

In the process of cleaning up a silicone mess on the half bath vanity, however, that countertop was ruined! So it has to be reordered. Then the sink opening needs to be recut, as does the hole for the faucet. Then the sink and faucet need to be reinstalled. At least it's functional in the meantime.

In other house news, we've made some progress with the nursery - hung roman shades, got and assembled a dresser (Dennis did 99.999% of the assembly, of course). All we have left to do is touch up some spots on the wall (just like in every other room), do the decorative painting, and hang valances. I'll definitely want an area rug for that room, too, but I'm trying to wait as long as I can so the floor can fade evenly. (Maybe a chocolate brown shag? A fun stripe? We'll see what rug shopping turns up.)

Excellent progress. It's been a while since I bothered to look, and I am glad I did - the difference between the last time I checked is amazing! I love the colors of, well, everything.
