Wildlife

We knew we'd have a bit more exposure to wildlife now that we are on such a wooded property, but I don't know if we realized just how much. We're even considering getting a better zoom lens for the camera to get some better shots of all of it.

This morning, we had six deer in the back yard - 5 adult males (all still in velvet) and one fawn. Unfortunately, the pic only shows 4 clearly. (The fawn is hiding in the grass; the fifth adult male is hiding behind the big tree/bush on the right.) I did later get some great pictures of the fawn, who let me walk up to about 10-15 feet away from him/her.

Here are some past wildlife photos I've been meaning to post forever:

Turtle (April 25)

Groundhog (July 15)

Doe in the driveway (July 25)

Deer (August 3)
This deer also allowed me to get ridiculously close to him. I hereby dub myself "The Deer Whisperer." Also, after this one ran into the edge of the woods, Dennis called out "Hey Deer!" and the deer actually poked his head out of the woods to check it out.

Hawks of unknown variety (August 6)

Coyote (August 10)
